We are a friendly, established multi-disciplinary consultancy practice providing a range of services to the construction industry.   Due to successfully achieving planned opportunities for growth we are now seeking a Building Surveyor to join our team.

You will work alongside a close-knit and supportive team of professionals to deliver a wide variety of building surveying tasks.  This particular role is busy and varied so no two days will be the same and may include such tasks as:

  • Project Design and Specification writing
  • Preparation of tender documentation
  • Contract Administration duties
  • Undertaking site visits and attending/chairing site meetings, as required
  • Day to Day Project Management
  • Advantageous if able to prepare existing and proposed plans in CAD format
  • Able to use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Undertake professional matters, including, but not limited to, Party Wall matters, Acquisitions, Condition Surveys, Dilapidations, etc.
  • Preparation of fee bids
  • Supervision and mentoring of Graduate / Apprentice Surveyors

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills/ experience:

  • MRICS or FRICS
  • Client facing
  • Good understanding of JCT forms of contract
  • Understanding of the NEC form of contract preferable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Advantageous if able to prepare existing and proposed plans in CAD format
  • Rail experience would be beneficial but not essential
  • Good all round technical knowledge
  • Self-motivated with a proactive attitude
  • Efficient, highly organised, problem solver
  • Discreet and personable
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Wants to develop within a construction consultancy
  • Holds UK driving licence

The above is a list of skills/experience that we’d be looking for, however the main thing is really a hands-on and practical attitude and the willingness to develop new skills and experience. Will mainly work as part of a team and also take the initiative to work on their own when required.
